We were lucky enough to chat with the Miles Franklin Award-winning author Shankari Chandran for the August instalment of Readers- Books and Conversations.

We dug into Shankari’s latest novel, Safe Haven, a thriller set in a detention center about Australia’s treatment of refugees. It’s poignant, beautiful and it puts complicated truths into words.

We also chatted about her previous works and discussed the inspirations behind her captivating characters and stories.
