Markus Zusak Literary Breakfast

It was a pleasure to speak with Australian author Markus Zusak at Trinity Grammar High School in Sydney as part of their Books and Breakfast series.

We spoke about what got him started as a writer, and how abject fear is a big part of his writing life.

I asked him to reflect on The Book Thief and what he understands about its ongoing impact and success with readers.

He also spoke about what he does when he's stuck with writing and why putting out his latest book, Three Wild Dogs and the Truth, has been such a happy experience.
